If you've ever been to a zoo, you know how exciting it can be to see lions, tigers, and bears (oh, my!) up close. But what if you could bring the zoo to your own living room? A zoo without cages, questionable smells, and the millions in donations it takes to give wild animals a decent home away from home. Let us introduce you to: dogs in animal costumes.

There is nothing more irresistably funny than a tiny pug wobbling around in a tiger costume or a labrador retriever pretending to be an alligator. With ferocious "lions" begging for belly rubs and "elephants" that want to sit on your lap, this is the closest most of us could ever get to actually petting a real wild animal. They may not fool anyone looking for a real safari experience, but they'll definitely steal the show (and probably your heart). These pups prove that you don't need to travel across the world to see exotic animals. All you need just need a patient pooch, a costume, and a sense of humor.

Only trained service dogs are allowed at zoos, so most of the pups probably have no idea what they are cosplaying as! Still, they're all such good boys (and girls) and do a totally convincing job of being wild animals!

It is especially amusing when the doggo's costume does not match their vibe at all. This pug looks nothing like a tiger, but he sure looks adorable in this costume! My mom once dressed up my childhood dog, Max, a maltese, as a turtle, and it was the funniest thing ever.
